“I just finished the Podcast Editor Business Model course in the Podcast Editor Academy. It was sooo good! Now I have a few things to think about and implement. It’s a great course & I’m so happy to be a member of the Podcast Editor’s Academy, it really is proving to be a great resource. Thank you!”

“I’ve been a member for a few years now, and I’ve gotten a wealth of information out of it. So far, the most valuable aspect has been the on–demand tutorials. As a solopreneur, I often can’t watch these events in real-time – but I’ve been able to go through the archive of presentations to greatly expand my knowledge of the craft. The Academy has been a great, great resource.”

“I used the customer sales scripts from the Podcast Editor Academy and they worked like a charm! Thank you so much!”

I’ve been editing podcasts professionally since 2016. Editing, solving problems, plus running a small, sustainable business around podcast production has been my way of life for over a decade.
Over the past several years, that work naturally grew into community. I help run the Podcast Editors Club, support editors through the Podcast Editor Academy, and stay closely connected to the real challenges editors face as their businesses evolve.
What matters most to me is that this industry stays human. Podcast editing can be isolating, confusing, and overwhelming when you’re figuring things out on your own. The Academy exists so you don’t have to do it alone.
Inside Podcast Editor Academy, you’re not just learning from me. You’re learning alongside other editors and producers who are navigating the same decisions, tradeoffs, and growing pains you are.
And I’m not doing it here alone either. My co-founder, Mark Deal, brings a complementary perspective on business, strategy, and long-term growth. Together, we help guide the conversations, support the community, and keep the Academy focused on forward momentum.
My background started in engineering and data science, then moved into global corporate marketing and strategy. Over time, that evolved into what I do today… helping people think clearly, make better decisions, and build systems that actually hold up in the real world.
I’ve been working in podcasting since 2013, and that journey led to the creation of Podcast Editor Academy, Podcast Atlanta, Podcast Guest Academy, and several other podcasting communities serving more than 15,000 members combined.
What I’m most interested in isn’t tactics for their own sake. It’s how creative professionals translate skill into sustainable business… how they price, position, communicate, and grow without burning themselves out or chasing every new trend.
A lot of my work lives at the intersection of structure and conversation. I help editors and producers step back, see the bigger picture, and design their business in a way that supports the life they actually want to live.
Inside Podcast Editor Academy, I work alongside Steve to guide conversations, shape the direction of the community, and help members navigate the decisions that come with growth… from first clients to long-term sustainability.

Hands-on editorial experience and clear strategic thinking. That balance is what keeps Podcast Editor Academy grounded, practical, and focused on forward momentum.
“Steve shares new editing jobs when they come in. I expressed my interest with a quick email and a few days later – I got the gig! The work I did from that gig alone was more than the yearly membership for the Academy. Much more! There are so many opportunities for professional development, networking and business tips in the Podcast Editor Academy – I highly recommend joining.”

“The Academy is one of my best resources as a podcast editor & engineer. I use it as a tool for something I want to learn or need to brush up on. For anyone who’s considering joining the Podcast Editor’s Academy there are several reason’s why you should: 1. Your Business – if you’re serious about growing your business as an editor, the Academy provides you with opportunities and resources to do just that. 2. Education – use the academy to learn a new skill, get a better grasp of the tax and legal side of the business, templates, or refine your current skills. I’m grateful to Mark and Steve for providing content, materials and discount that are actually useful for day to day operations.”

If you want to make money editing podcasts or managing shows for others, Podcast Editor Academy was built for you.
This is a professional resource for podcast editors and producers who want to build a real, sustainable service-based business… not just learn tools in isolation.

BOTH
If you’re new, the Academy helps you understand the fundamentals of editing, workflows, pricing, and how to land your first clients without feeling overwhelmed.
If you’re already working with clients, the Academy helps you refine your processes, raise your rates, avoid burnout, and make smarter decisions as your business grows.
You don’t have to be at a specific level to join… the value comes from applying what’s relevant to where you are right now.
Podcast Editor Academy isn’t a course you complete from start to finish. It’s a professional resource you return to as your business evolves. Some members dive into the Course Library right away. Others rely more heavily on the live Office Hours, private member podcast, and community discussions, only pulling from the library when a specific challenge comes up.
To help guide you when you do want direction, we offer a Client Growth Roadmap that highlights relevant resources for different stages of your business… from landing your first client, to managing multiple shows, to scaling beyond a dozen ongoing clients.
