Podcast Editor Academy Isn’t About More Videos

It’s About Forward Momentum

Podcast Editor Academy is your home for community, development, and career success!

There’s no shortage of podcast editing tutorials online.

YouTube alone has thousands of videos covering every tool, technique, and workflow imaginable.

But information isn’t the problem.

You don’t need more tutorials. You need a place to apply what you already know.

Direction, confidence, and follow-through are.

Podcast Editor Academy exists to help you turn what you already know into a business that actually works.

Live Monthly Office Hours

Each month, we host a live, focused Office Hours session led by Steve Stewart and Mark Deal.

Topics are shaped by real member questions, real scenarios, and real challenges happening in 2026.

This isn’t a presentation.

It’s a working session.

You’ll hear how decisions are made, problems are unpacked, and tradeoffs are discussed in real time.

Focused Professional Community

Podcast Editor Academy is not another noisy forum.

It’s a curated professional space where editors and producers show up to:

  • ask better questions
  • share what’s actually working
  • and help each other move forward.

The value isn’t in scrolling.

It’s in participation.

Private Member-Only Podcast (New for 2026)

Every Office Hours session is replayed inside a private, members-only podcast feed.

We also resurface selected legacy sessions from our archives, reintroduced with modern context.

Instead of needing to “Log in someday“, the Academy now travels with you.

Bring the Academy along with the podcasts you already listen to… in the Apps you already use.

This is how Podcast Editor Academy stays active, useful, and relevant…

even when you’re busy editing, producing, and running your business.

Six Years of Resources.

Still Relevant. Still Here.

Podcast Editor Academy has been building resources for podcast editors and producers for over six years. Inside the Academy, you’ll find hundreds of courses, lessons, and resources focused on the real technical and business challenges of podcast production.

Our library supports community conversations… not the other way around.

The earliest resources in Podcast Editor Academy are still relevant today because the fundamentals haven’t changed… how you find clients, how you price your work, how you manage relationships, and how you grow without burning out.

What has changed is how these resources are used inside the Academy.

You’re no longer expected to work through everything or follow a rigid curriculum. Instead, the library is designed to support where you are right now, not where you’re “supposed” to be.

That’s why the Academy includes a Client Growth Roadmap, which organizes selected courses and lessons around different phases of your business… from landing your first client, to managing a handful of shows, to growing beyond a dozen ongoing clients.

When a specific question or challenge comes up, a simple search feature helps you quickly find relevant lessons and resources at the moment you need them. Many members also bookmark key resources inside their profile so they can return to the same material as their business evolves.

The library exists to support the live Office Hours discussions and private podcast replays… not to compete with them or pull focus away.

It’s here when it’s useful, accessible when it’s relevant, and never something you’re behind on.

Everything inside the Academy is designed to support progress, not overwhelm.

All of this depth only matters if it fits into your real workday.
That’s why the Academy is designed to support you while you’re actually doing the work… not pull you away from it.

“I just finished the Podcast Editor Business Model course in the Podcast Editor Academy. It was sooo good! Now I have a few things to think about and implement. It’s a great course & I’m so happy to be a member of the Podcast Editor’s Academy, it really is proving to be a great resource. Thank you!”

Built Around The Way You Work

At the center of the Podcast Editor Academy is a monthly Office Hours call designed to help you keep moving forward in your business.

Each session begins structured and recorded, focused on real questions submitted by members. This ensures that even if you can’t attend live, the most important challenges are addressed clearly and thoughtfully.

From there, the conversation opens up.

Live attendees can ask follow-up questions, share context, and participate in group discussion. These sessions often become collaborative conversations between Steve, Mark, and other experienced members… exploring the pros and cons of different strategies, workflows, pricing models, and client situations.

There isn’t a single “right answer” pushed on anyone. Instead, members hear how experienced editors think through decisions, tradeoffs, and edge cases in real businesses.

Once the structured portion is complete, the recording stops and the call transitions into a more informal, off-the-record group discussion. This is where members catch up, share what they’re working on, and help one another problem-solve in real time.

If you can’t attend live, that’s okay.

Each Office Hours session lives on in two ways:

1) A video replay inside the Academy

2) An audio replay in the private, member-only podcast feed

That means you can submit a question in advance, get thoughtful coverage during Office Hours, and listen back while editing, commuting, or doing admin work… without needing to block time on your calendar.

The Academy is designed to support progress, not demand attention.

You don’t have to show up perfectly.

You don’t have to attend every call.

You don’t have to keep up with everything.

You just need a place that helps you keep moving forward… when and how it fits your workday.

You don’t have to attend live to get value,

but you’re always welcome when you can.

“I’ve been a member for a few years now, and I’ve gotten a wealth of information out of it. So far, the most valuable aspect has been the ondemand tutorials. As a solopreneur, I often can’t watch these events in real-time – but I’ve been able to go through the archive of presentations to greatly expand my knowledge of the craft. The Academy has been a great, great resource.”

Podcast Editor Academy Membership Is NOT:

  • A single static course you’re expected to finish

The Academy exists to support forward momentum…

not demand constant attention.

If you’re looking for direction, accountability, and real conversations

you’re in the right place!

“I used the customer sales scripts from the Podcast Editor Academy and they worked like a charm! Thank you so much!”

Your Guides

Steve Stewart, co-founder Podcast Editor Academy

Steve Stewart

I’ve been editing podcasts professionally since 2016. Editing, solving problems, plus running a small, sustainable business around podcast production has been my way of life for over a decade.

Over the past several years, that work naturally grew into community. I help run the Podcast Editors Club, support editors through the Podcast Editor Academy, and stay closely connected to the real challenges editors face as their businesses evolve.

What matters most to me is that this industry stays human. Podcast editing can be isolating, confusing, and overwhelming when you’re figuring things out on your own. The Academy exists so you don’t have to do it alone.

Inside Podcast Editor Academy, you’re not just learning from me. You’re learning alongside other editors and producers who are navigating the same decisions, tradeoffs, and growing pains you are.

And I’m not doing it here alone either. My co-founder, Mark Deal, brings a complementary perspective on business, strategy, and long-term growth. Together, we help guide the conversations, support the community, and keep the Academy focused on forward momentum.

My background started in engineering and data science, then moved into global corporate marketing and strategy. Over time, that evolved into what I do today… helping people think clearly, make better decisions, and build systems that actually hold up in the real world.

I’ve been working in podcasting since 2013, and that journey led to the creation of Podcast Editor Academy, Podcast Atlanta, Podcast Guest Academy, and several other podcasting communities serving more than 15,000 members combined.

What I’m most interested in isn’t tactics for their own sake. It’s how creative professionals translate skill into sustainable business… how they price, position, communicate, and grow without burning themselves out or chasing every new trend.

A lot of my work lives at the intersection of structure and conversation. I help editors and producers step back, see the bigger picture, and design their business in a way that supports the life they actually want to live.

Inside Podcast Editor Academy, I work alongside Steve to guide conversations, shape the direction of the community, and help members navigate the decisions that come with growth… from first clients to long-term sustainability.

Mark Deal

Together, we balance experience, strategy, and real-world perspective.

Hands-on editorial experience and clear strategic thinking. That balance is what keeps Podcast Editor Academy grounded, practical, and focused on forward momentum.

“Steve shares new editing jobs when they come in. I expressed my interest with a quick email and a few days later – I got the gig! The work I did from that gig alone was more than the yearly membership for the Academy. Much more! There are so many opportunities for professional development, networking and business tips in the Podcast Editor Academy – I highly recommend joining.”

“The Academy is one of my best resources as a podcast editor & engineer. I use it as a tool for something I want to learn or need to brush up on. For anyone who’s considering joining the Podcast Editor’s Academy there are several reason’s why you should: 1. Your Business – if you’re serious about growing your business as an editor, the Academy provides you with opportunities and resources to do just that. 2. BOTH

If you’re new, the Academy helps you understand the fundamentals of editing, workflows, pricing, and how to land your first clients without feeling overwhelmed.

If you’re already working with clients, the Academy helps you refine your processes, raise your rates, avoid burnout, and make smarter decisions as your business grows.

Do I need to “finish” the Academy, or can I use it as I go?

Podcast Editor Academy isn’t a course you complete from start to finish. It’s a professional resource you return to as your business evolves. Some members dive into the Course Library right away. Others rely more heavily on the live Office Hours, private member podcast, and community discussions, only pulling from the library when a specific challenge comes up.

To help guide you when you do want direction, we offer a Client Growth Roadmap that highlights relevant resources for different stages of your business… from landing your first client, to managing multiple shows, to scaling beyond a dozen ongoing clients.

There’s no falling behind here. Everything is designed to support forward momentum, not create pressure.
