Your business needs to offer video services too.
I LOVE editing AUDIO podcasts 😍. I just LOVE it!
I don’t enjoy editing video. I’m not very good at it, so my natural inclination is to avoid it.
Then I got it! 💡
Losing clients because I wasn’t offering video services is now a thing of the past because I found a happy medium – for both me and my clients!
People want video, even if they don’t
Even if podcasters don’t want to DO video, they think they need it.
Many don’t understand the costs. There’s the setup and the cameras and, of course, the post-production. It’s both time & monetarily expensive.
If you’re not an expert video editor, or just need to make more 💰 in your editing business, then you need to make an offer that appeases those who don’t understand the true costs of doing video.
The offer also should not take you too much time to produce and that matches your video editing skillz.
…and it needs to create a better product than just throwing up a Zoom recording onto YouTube 🤮
A happy medium for you and your client
I’m not suggesting you promise a Mark Rober video and then deliver a poor product. Your clients or potential leads will go elsewhere if you can’t give them what they want.
If your clients are like mine, they want a presence on YouTube but won’t pay to have Mr. Beast quality video production.
What is the the medium for you and your client? I call it “Video Lite“.
“Video Lite” only takes about 60 minutes to complete (not including rendering or uploading to their YouTube and/or Spotify channel), allows me to keep working with my podcasting client, and helps generate more revenue for my business.

Video Lite includes:
- Enhanced audio
- Removing the “Big Rocks“
- Occasional lower thirds/overlays
- Music
But I do not edit out all the Uhms or try to tighten up the conversation/monologue.
NOTE: This is only offered if they also get their audio podcast edited (which gets a full, detailed edit and is charged as such).
I have found most of my clients don’t care if there is more CRAPP in the video than the audio. They understand CRAPP is more tolerable in video than a 60-minute audio podcast…and it gets them on The Tubes.
Learn Video Lite

We have a course and video tutorial in the Podcast Editor Academy that shares my secret for finding Big Rocks without going through the entire video.
I can produce a full podcast video for a client, with lower thirds and more engaging visuals, in less than an hour. ⏲️
PLUS, I can also create video shorts (which becomes another revenue generating activity)…and I’m not a video editor!
My clients are happy to have a presence on YouTube, an expertly produced audio episode for their podcast, and not have to pay $300-$500 more!
Losing clients because I wasn’t offering video production services is a thing of the past. If you don’t want to lose clients because of video, you might consider my “Video Lite” process.
