Jeni Wren Stottrup is an audio producer, musician, storyteller, vocalist and podcast advocate based in Portland, Oregon. She is a producer at renowned Portland independent radio station XRAY.FM and host of narrative music podcast and radio show Gritty Birds.
Wren has an extensive background in media and audio production. With undergrad degrees in Political Communications and Vocal Performance from the University of Iowa, she moved to the Pacific NW to continue studying music and recording. Following her Masters in Education, she moved back to the PNW, working in production, producing festivals and live events, performing with bands including Shy Girls, co-producing her solo 2013 EP North Star and working with broadcast journalists to develop her narrative music podcast Gritty Birds.
Wren has written for publications including Portland Mercury, Paste Magazine and Vortex Music Mag and is currently the Music Podcast Content Director of Podcast Magazine. After spending two years in audio retail with Guitar Center, hitting honors as the top woman in sales in the PNW, she left to found her production company, Gritty Birds Podcasting in 2019.
As a podcast coach, audio engineer and business owner, Wren focuses on supporting businesses and journalists to develop and implement great content strategy, systems, and sound.
